Lia Beuchat

Swiss and French Dancer, traveler and researcher on connection between music and movement.

graduated from Sozo Visions in Motion in the summer of 2019 in Kassel where she met and danced for Pavlos Kountouriotis, Jianan Qu, Ryan Masson, and Agostina D'Alessandro. She started dancing in Lausanne and then continued her training at the Geneva School of Applied Arts where she was able to work with renowned choreographers such as Cindy Van Acker and Foofwa d'Immobilité.

In 2016 Lia started her collaboration with Mickael Luis, they have performed on different stages in Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands under the name “Cordes à Corps”.

From the curiosity on the connection between music and bodies, Lia also choreographed a piece for four dancers based on the music of the Finnish composer Rautavaara.

Lia has had the opportunity to attend Gaga workshops, in Tel Aviv and Antwerp. She also had the opportunity to meet the Sankai Juku company with whom she followed a Butho training course in Japan. In Deltebre she took a workshop from Julian Hamilton.

Hiccup, gather, rise up and turn

is a contemporary string quartet composed by Rautavaara translated into movement.

In the final stage, the use of sound is no longer present. Represented by four dancers who take the role of one of the instruments of a string quartet, the movement show the harmonic and rhythmic power of Rautavaara's piece.
