WHAT'S THE

CONCEPT

"Cordes à Corps" is a duet made from a guitar player and a dancer. Exploring the relationship between music and dance, between composition and space, sound and movement.

Using score as a first step instead of the emotion of the music as we are used to in dance. Finding new ways to relate to dance and music with less hierarchy as possible. Both leading and following.

How to construct a relationship that has no hierarchy? How can strict score create a new world?

The first piece is cold "Jeux de Hasard", based on the chance method. It's made of 7 sets of 17 notes and 17 points on the space which the other was decided by chance.  So the dancer and the musician got from the chance method a fixed score that they needed to find out how to bring it to music and to dance.

The second piece is from a repertoire piece for guitar cold "Campo". It's a piece structure as ABA. The dance is made thought the music score, based on the 7 notes that are the leading notes, are creating the choreography.
